Science that’s fun, fascinating and relatable

That’s what the Orlando Science Center on East Princeton Street offers up to its visitors and they do an outstanding job of it. In fact, the Center is a finalist for the 2017 Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) National Medal award to be announced soon.

The array of programs and exhibits is staggering. In June, the Museum will open a new traveling exhibit “Identity: An Exhibition of You!” which explores the science of our similarities and how they relate to our unique identities. July is “Paleontology Month,” which will explore our favorite creatures of the Cretaceous Period. August is “Florida Month,” highlighting the unique features and attributes of our state. Throughout the summer the Museum is conducting numerous programs geared for children who are preschoolers, in kindergarten and grades 1 – 2, grades 3 – 4, grades 5 – 6 and grades 7 – 9.

Don’t miss what this Museum has to offer. It’s exciting and informative and there’s something for everyone. Generally, the Museum is open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Sunday excepting Wednesday when it’s closed. The adult admission price is $19.95 with discounts available to youth, students and seniors. Children 2 and under are free. Prior to going, give them a call at 407-514-2000 to verify hours of operation and you can always check their website (www.osc.org) for detailed information on what’s currently being offered.
